The Fall

Genesis 3: Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?”

Many have wondered about the infamous serpent in the Garden of Eden and whether the story was of an actual fall into sin of two real human beings, or whether it's just Biblical myth designed to illustrate theological understandings. While you can certainly search this topic in the forum, basically you'll see it prolifically shown that Adam and Eve are considered are considered real people across the New Testament and Luke even includes Adam in his genealogy linking Adam directly to Jesus. (more about that here: https://www.crossway.org/articles/8-new ... -and-eve/ ). So, no "Fall" of an actual human couple named Adam and Eve," then, no sin, and no need for a Savior in Jesus!

But back to the serpent in the Garden of Eden - here, Fuz Rana, Senior Scholar with Hugh Ross' Reasons to Believe, talks about the possibilities concerning the Biblical serpent: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEqSV0tx8CQ

And here, ancient Bible cultures and languages scholar Dr. Michael Heiser provides a much deeper Scriptural dive into what might well be the reality behind the "serpent" in the Garden of Eden: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v31REyfdP94

Fun stuff!
