The events of the Old Testament Book of Joshua took place after Israel's Exodus from Egypt and its wandering in the desert and being called into a Covenant with Yahweh / God - somewhere between the 13th and 15th century BC. Joshua was Moses' second-in-command. He was a great military leader who led Israel in her 7-year conquest of the Promised Land. It's important to realize that the events recorded in Joshua were real and historic.
