Most spectacular 3-D image of galaxies EVER made - how vast is God's Creation!
Many of us have little understanding as to just how vast the universe is, or how small our own small planet and solar system in comparison. With stunning imagery and just released this month by the European Space Agency's, this image was stitched together photos taken by the Euclid telescope, producing one zoomable and absolutely breathtaking and beautiful image of galaxies - SEE IT HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86ZCsUfgLRQ
To put the immense scale of our universe in perspective, note that on clear night, one can see up to 6,000 stars - a tiny fraction of the ones that exist across the universe. Our own star - the sun - is 93 million miles away, which is just one star in our own Milky Way galaxy. Our solar system is located at a radius of about 27,000 light years from the center of our galaxy. See how long a light year is: https://youtu.be/MX3PIkbTQwQ
One of the methods astronomers have used to estimate the number of stars in our Milky Way galaxy is by utilizing the knowledge that red, white and blue stars give off different amounts of light. And through calculations based upon star's color and brightness, an estimate range of 100 - 400 billion stars exist in our the Milky Way, with at least that many planets or more. And using this same calculation for the number of stars in the Milky Way, with the average galaxy containing 100 billion stars, astronomers estimate the universe may contain as many as 200 billion, trillion stars - or 200 sextillion. Or 200,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars! Do you feel small yet?
Psalm 8: 3 When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, 4 what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? 5 Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.
Psalm 19: 1 The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork. 2 Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge.
