Why there can only be ONE God!
So, the question becomes: WHY can there be ONLY one God - especially the infinite, eternal, all-powerful / all-knowing God of the Bible? In this short video, as apologist Dr. Frank Turek explains - here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/Sm9p-Mtmdqg
Dr. Turek also co-wrote the apologetic classic, I don't have enough faith to be an atheist - a book everyone searching for powerful evidence why God MUST exist should own - here's the link:https://www.amazon.com/Dont-Have-Enough ... 212&sr=8-1
The Bible teaches that there is but ONE God, and He is a Trinity of three Persons that make up the ONE God: Father, Son / Jesus, and Holy Spirit. And each Person in God's Trinity are equal and FULLY God, and yet they make up just ONE God - a concept that Scripture teaches, but is difficult to understand, as we are finite and mortal and this is almost beyond our comprehension. This can be seen in Colossians 2:9, showing the Jesus, the Son of God the Father, to also be God: For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form. And in John 10:30, where Jesus said, "I and the Father are one.” And in Matthew 28:19, we see the Father, Son and Holy Spirit share ONE collective, but singular, name: Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
To you it was shown, that you might know that the Lord is God; there is no other besides him. (Deuteronomy 4:35)
While it may seem bizarre to most of us today, for much of the history of humanity, and particularly the ancient world, polytheism - the belief in more than one or many gods - was the norm. Ancient Israel, was surrounded by pagan nations practicing their polytheist beliefs. That Israel was to follow only ONE God - Yahweh - seemed absurd to these other nations, as they followed many false gods. Of course, turning to these other gods was one reason God severely punished Israel over and over - as it was the one practice that angered him above all others. Even today, there are many around the world that practice some form of polytheism: Hinduism is not only a major polytheistic religion, but is the third largest religion in the world; Shintoism is a notable polytheistic religion; Wicca is a neo-pagan faith and polytheistic religion; Taoism; Hellenism; Shenism is a Chinese folk religion; And there are various African tribal religions following the practice.
