Creating an AVATAR for your posts

Someone asked about how to place an avatar image so that it will show up in your posts. While I've not done this in a very long time, I put together the instructions below - which I hope are accurate. You could also do a YouTube site search for "How to post an avatar to a PhPBB website."

Instructions

. Go to Google Images or search a website for an image you like - choose an image and then copy and save it into a folder on your computer as a .jpg file

. Check this website out about creating avatars, might be helpful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eBD-CmOeRjk

. Once you have your avatar saved to your PC:

. Go to top / right of the page click on your NAME

. From the drop-down click on PROFILE

. On the Profile tab page, you'll see to the left (in red) EDIT PROFILE - and under that, click EDIT AVATAR

NEXT:

Access the Avatar settings: On your profile page, look for the "Avatar" section, usually located within the "General" tab.
• Upload your image: Click on the "Choose File" button and select the image you want to use as your avatar from your computer.
• Set dimensions and options (if needed): Depending on your forum's settings, you may need to adjust the image size or select cropping options.
• Save changes: Click "Submit" to save your new avatar.

If your avatar image looks too fuzzy, it's probably too large - if so, do the following:

. You may need to resize your image to 128x128 pixels with <30kb file size.

. To do that you need to go to this site ( http://resizeimage.net/ ) and upload your image by clicking "upload your image" under the 1st point.
Then, at the 4th point, type 128 x 128

. Ignore the rest and at the bottom of the page press "Resize image", download it to your computer, and then upload it here on the forums in your profile > edit avatar tab.
