Jesus Christ - Resurrection Confusion

Post by Believer »

When Jesus Christ rose from the dead on the 3rd day did the people that saw him see a physical Jesus, a spiritual (ghostly) Jesus, a reincarnated Jesus, or a hallucination Jesus? I ask because if you grieve to much you might hallucinate a projection of Jesus when he was seen prior to his cruxifiction. I know the Bible says 500 people saw him plus others, but in that case could it have been a spiritual Jesus? If people have seen Jesus to this day for some reason, they see him in a spiritual form, not a physical form. The Bible says Jesus rose and I believe was in a physical form but if that is the case, why doesn't he show himself to people in a physical form to this day?

First his actual body rose from the tomb, so everyone who saw Him after the resurrection actually saw his physical body; as real and physical as any of us. But then He ascended into heaven, at which point He was no longer a physical entity on Earth.

I've heard of stories where Jesus is seen today in physical, human form... But speculating as to the meaning and accuracy of these experiences is difficult.

Why would Jesus abandon his physical entity that he rose up in again? I mean if he went to heaven as a physical entity, he would have stayed that way since he didn't rise up as a spiritual Jesus. The guy is confusing, the Bible feels so loose like it doesn't make all that much sense and doesn't go into detail.

Many believe Jesus retained His physical body even after His ascension, however that Christ is obviously spiritual since He is divine. If Christ didn't retain His humanity, then such is seen as having theological ramifications on Christ being able to mediate between us and God.

A way to perhaps visualise this, is to consider the nature of angels. They are spiritual creatures, but then they are also represented in Scripture as appearing in physical form. So the nature of their bodies appear to possess certain capacities of both physical and spiritual forms.

I'd like to add that I don't think Jesus's physical body was disintegrated after His ascension. Maybe He went to visit another creation of His?

Too lazy to say the same thing again. Agree with him^^^.
