Jesus said, "But I tell you, Elijah has come, and they have done to him everything they wished, just as it is written about him." (Mark 9:13)

i hope this is not a stupid question, but has anyone ever figured out when Elijah came and who he was? John the Baptist?

I believe it is refering to John the Baptist having the spirit of Elijiah

Elijah was a prophet in a non-profit world in the Old Testament.

That is not reincarnation. When I say spirit, I meant fire. The same calling. The same passion. Elijah and John are 2 different people.
