Francis Schaeffer and Pea Soup

Has anyone read "The God Who is There" by Francis Schaeffer? He continually explains that humanistic philosophers cannot find a universal, which is keeping their philosophies from being actual philosophies, and not anti-philosophies. And, also, why can't humanistic philosophies logically lay the first stone to their reasoning?

It's hard at the moment, I'm making as much progress as a slab of concrete rolling uphill.

Humanism uses logic to explain itself the way a fish rides a bike to school.

Don't mix metaphors, it makes about as much sense as money stuffed under the bed.

At least my bed doesn't charge 3.75 for a withdrawal or $15 / month to have my money sit there. :)

Off-topic but I couldn't resist. Darn banks.

Yeah I know... PC banking is good but my credit rating is such that they won't auto-clear enough money for it to work well in my situation.

ING for daily banking? I can't remember why that didn't work.

Well maybe not for Daily Banking. CIBC has a new $12 a month plan giving you unlimited transactions

Edit: Sorry a little off topic
